“extremely good value” commented on 20-Jun-2012
We stayed at the Ramada Resort in May 2012 and was so pleased with the
quality of the room fittings, cleanliness was excellent, washing machine
and dryer in very good working order, a spacious suite. Enjoyed the
outdoors relaxing with a drink on the balcony listening to the laughter
from the other guests who were obviously having a great time in the
beautifully lit pool in the evening.
Laughter was in abundance, so nice to hear.
Staff were professional and friendly.
Smokey Joe's cafe was a delight to sit with friends and enjoy an extended evening meal. also served a lovely breakfast.
The
layout of the resort was puzzling on our first walk through, but became
very obvious soon enough and easy to find our way round.
I thoroughly recommend this resort and was the major "find" of our recent tour of eastern Australia. Will visit again next year.

“Great experience all round, will bring wife back next time” commented on 20-Jun-2012
I stayed at the Ramada for business last week (week night) as it was
new, had large rooms, close to the airport & I wanted something to
do at night other than watch TV (there is live music in the restaurant).
Guest check in was great from the desk staff, they suggested I have
dinner in Smokey Joes that night (I had intended to anyway). These rooms
are large, modern and well appointed- also self contained- the suite
part anyway- they are 'dual key' design. Bed was very comfy and thank
goodness very quiet. My room overlooked the lap pool in the middle which
actually looks at good at night than it does in the day. Meal wise the
pick was the local scollops, local eye fillet (rare- to perfection) and
as I often do not have dessert, I really enjoyed the polenta tart which
was not too sweet. The wine list is somewhat limited but the grog prices
are relatively low so this was not a great issue. The live guitarist
had quite long sessions and thank goodness was just at the right volume.
I actually gave him a tip.. Considering the rarity of live music in a
restaurant (anywhere) the meal was really good value. I had an issue
however with no foxtel and internet I had to pay for (in the room),
however the room rate was relatively low in comparison to others in
hervey bay. The management might need to work on a higher value rate
package for corporates. Would have no hestitation bring wife back as the
hotel is next door to the marina and access to whale watching and
Fraser ferries. The fact that its not near a beach is irrelevant to me
as the beaches in Hervey Bay itself are ordinary at best. Best idea for a
beach experience is to go to fraser island.

“Business Important but Welcome was Everything” commented on 20-Jun-2012
My stay was a Tuesday night for business and it was my second time to
the Hotel. The one bedroom unit on the front of the building was great
for me. The unit had lots of room to spread out, the car park was very
close for a quick get away, the facilities were clean and the view was a
very pleasant bonus. But, the most important for me was the welcome,
after a day travelling and dealing with airports and clients it was nice
to meet a group of people happy to chat in a way which made the day
disappear. The staff at reception and in the restaurant were all
engaging and made the evening just what I needed before the rush of the
next day. The other positives for me were the moderate prices for the
mini bar items and the fact the hotel is making a real effort to provide
something for the corporate traveler in a predominately older tourist
market. Looking to be balanced the only negatives were the wine list at
Smokey Joe's which in my view needs to offer a better quality of wine by
the glass for those who cannot drink a bottle by themselves and have
moved on from putting up with the house wine and the standard of tea,
coffee and plastic milk offered in the rooms for that after hours cup of
tea or coffee some treasured by those on the road and away from their
favorable home cup. Sincere thanks for making the effort to make we feel
welcome and for making it look so effortless. It said to me it co, mes
naturally.

I wasnt sure where to stay in Hervey Bay as it had been 15 years since I had been there and alot has changed. Ramada had a good deal on so i choose them. Very modern hotel in an excellent location, directly across the road from the Boat Club which is huge and alot of fun. We ate at the Ramada restaurant twice. It had a nice atmosphere. You can hire push bikes here, I didnt get a chance to do so, but it would be fun to have riden around to the pier and the aquarium and down to Torque. Torque was so cute with all the little restaurants and bars. Hervey Bay is still like I remember it but it has definately grown. I would stay at Ramada Hervey Bay again, but I would like to go in whale watching season when there are more people around.
